(Published in Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 5, 2013) BALKO, Okla. — Myrna Ruth Brooks Bell, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton, Texas. Mrs. Bell was born May 4, 1938, in Texarkana, Texas, to H.E. and Ruth Brooks. She married Leon Bell on Dec. 27, 1961. Survivors include her husband; a son, Alan Brooks Bell of Edmond; a daughter, Susan Bryan Rauch of Austin, Texas; a brother, Dr. William Bryan Brooks of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Ranger Academic Enrichment Foundation, P.O. Box 179, Perryton, TX 79070; or a favorite charity.
