(Published in Amarillo Daily News, Amarillo, Texas · Monday, January 15, 1945, Page 7) Crownover Rites at Home of Son Today Funeral services for John Crownover, pioneer resident of Armstrong County, who died in a local hospital last Friday, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his son, M.H. Crownover, five miles southeast of Washburn. Rev. F.A. Foster, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, will officiate, after which the body will be buried in the Claude cemetery where members of the Claude Masonic Lodge will be in charge. Besides his son, Mr. Crownover is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Crownover; a daughter, Mrs. A.F. Stevenson [sic] of Panhandle; three brothers, Milton of Nocona, Matt of Bluejacket, Okla. and William of Mills Creek, Okla.; and two sisters, Mrs. Betty Kirkendall and Mrs. Sally Wright, both of Mills Creek. ----- (Published in Amarillo Daily News, Amarillo, Texas · Saturday, January 13, 1945, Page 5) John Crownover Taken by Death John Crownover, 76 years old, a resident of Armstrong County for 40 years, died last night at 7 o'clock at a local hospital. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Annie Crownover; a son, M.H. Crownover, Armstrong County; a daughter, Mrs. Susie Stephenson, Panhandle; three brothers, Milton Crownover, Nocona; Mat Crownover, Bluejacket, Okla., and William Crownover, Mills Creek, Okla.; and two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Russell and Mrs. Betty Wright, both of Mills Creek. The body is in state at N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services are penbding.
