Veteran of World War II. Served in the United States Navy and the United States Army. Recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Preceded in death by his wife, Verna Elizabeth Howell, on July 29, 2002. They were married March 27, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas. Also preceded by two daughters, Melissa Sue Lynn and ReVe Ponder, son-in-law, Tom Ponder; four sisters and two brothers. Died as a result of injuries received in auto accident.
