Bio
Walter L. "Bud" Crawford, 80, of Taylorville died at 6:25 pm Friday, April 13, 2001, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital. He was born January 17, 1921, in Pana, the son of Lee Rolen and Vetres J. Waldon Crawford. He married Ethel Eddington on October 29, 1945, in Irving. He was a retired repairman and dispatcher for Peabody Mine #10 in Pawnee. He was affiliated with First United Methodist Church in Taylorville and was a member of United Mine Workers of America. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife; daughters: Connie (husband John) Downs of Taylorville, Carol (husband Patrick) Shields of Macon and Shirley (husband Frank) Marcogliese of Kincaid; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; and sister, Doris McFarland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 16, in Sutton Memorial Home, with Rev. Dr. Phillip Icenogle officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, April 15, in the funeral home
