Mildred Katherine Zabodyn Srubar , 91 years of age, departed this life on Saturday, November 9th, 2013. Mildred was born on April 28th, 1922, in Beasley, Texas, daughter of the late Frank T., Sr. and Rosie Svec Zabodyn. Mildred was survived by two daughters, Jeanette Oates of Lufkin, Texas and Mildred Louise Greeley of Waller, Texas; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Delores and Evelyn; and two brothers, Stanley and Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank T. Zabodyn, Sr., who departed this life on September 29th, 1955 and Rosie Svec Zabodyn, who departed this life on August 19th, 1987; her husband, Louis Julius Srubar, who departed this life in 1994; and two infant daughters. Visitations were held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th, 2013 at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Katy, Texas. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th, 2013 in the Chapel of the Schmidt Funeral Home with Charlie Miller officiating. A private interment followed in the Katy Magnolia Cemetery. THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF MILDRED, I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
