Bio

Doyle Norris Hayes, 78, of Paris, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Rickey Hayes, Rev. Don Shovan & Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Lone Star Cemetery in Red River County. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Doyle, the son of Alvin & Marie Thomas Hayes, was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Clarksville, Red River County, Texas. He joined the U. S. Army in 1954. He was stationed in Germany two times, once in Korea and once in Vietnam. Doyle retired from the military in 1974, following 20 years of service to his country. He then began working for the U. S. Postal Service retiring in 1996. He had attended Lone Star United Methodist Church and was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. Doyle was an avid golfer and was everyone's uncle. He will be missed by all. Preceding him in death are his parents, a son, Kevin Hayes, a grandson, Kelson Hayes, his twin brother, Coyle Hayes and two sisters, Shirley Hayes Belcher and Billie Hayes Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Suzy Pointer Hayes, whom he married on Feb. 15, 1992, children, Kathy Evans & husband Bobby of Ft. Worth, Kirk Hayes of Ft. Worth, Dana Hull of Los Angeles, CA and David Chrisner & wife Dee of Bell County, Kevin's widow, Joan Greenberg Hayes of Ft. Worth, grandchildren, Brian Evans & wife Linda, Adam Evans & wife Kristen, Stephen Evans, Jesse Hayes, Beth Hayes, David Chrisner, Jr. & wife Tiffany and Danielle Chrisner Herrera & husband Kenny, great grandchildren, Iris Hayes, Eva Hayes and Jillian, Faith, Logan, Brennon and Brock Evans, a sister, Mary Hayes Edwards of Benton, AR, a sister-in-law, Onvie Hayes of Paris, numerous nieces & nephews, his dear friend, Big Ed, to whom the family would like to extend a special thanks for his friendship & care, and a plethora of friends. Casket bearers will be: Randall Hayes, Roland Hayes, Ronald Hayes, Jackie Wilson, Trent Edwards, Terry Belcher and John Wilson. Honorary bearers will be: Colby Moree, Garrett Webster, and all Doyle's golfing buddies at Pine Ridge Golf Course: Bob Addy, Chuck Raper, Bob Hundley, Ed Malm, Larry Gray & Charley Sugg.
