Margaret R. "Peg" Phillips June 15, 1948 - Nov. 18, 2013 Margaret R. "Peg" Phillips, 65 years, of Omaha, NE formerly of North Bend, NE died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha. Margaret was born June 15, 1948 in Wahoo, NE to Robert and Lola(Wilcox)Wernsman, Sr. She grew up at Prague, NE and was a 1966 graduate of Prague High School. She attended Kennedy College in Wahoo, NE. Peg married James L. "Larry" Phillips on October 14, 1967 in Prague, NE. The couple lived in North Bend until moving to Omaha in June of 2013. Peg worked at the Post Office in North Bend and then was Postmaster at Morse Bluff until she retired in 2005. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend and previously served on the North Bend City Council. She was an avid quilter and was a founding member of the Material Girls Quilting Guild. Peg was a Weight Watchers Leader, a cake decorator and a Texas snowbird. She served on the Post Prom Committee. She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Pamela Phillips and Amy & husband, Bob Robles all of Omaha; brother, Robert Wernsman, Jr. of Lubbock, TX; sisters, JoAnn & husband, Dick Alback, Tracy Wernsman and Beth & husband, Matt Holland all of Omaha; sister-in-law, Nancy & husband, Mike Goddard of Omaha; granddaughter, Amanda Koziol; great grandson, Tommy Koziol. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service, 10:30 AM, Friday, Nov. 22nd at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Father Donald Cleary will officiate. Visitation on Thursday from 3 PM to 8 PM and Friday 9 AM till service time. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend. The family prefers memorials be given to the North Bend Library.
