Coy F. Miller, 87, of Gholson, Texas, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, in Keller, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Burial will follow in Gholson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Coy was born in Wichita County, Texas, to the late Elijah "Firm" and Melvina (Jowers) Miller. He served his county with the United States Navy where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor through V-J-Day and the end of World War II. Coy returned to Gholson and married Rosie Lee Kissick on September 21, 1946, in Waco. He spent the rest of his life in the Dallas-Fort Worth area providing for his family through entrepreneurship and assembling aircraft at Chance Vaught, Bell Helicopter, and General Dynamics until he retired in 1988. Coy was profoundly patriotic and devoted to conservative principles, which manifested itself in his notably industrious work ethic. His love for America and the State of Texas, its history and geography, made him a living encyclopedia on those topics. Coy was preceded in death by his brothers, Barney, Floyd, Lonnie, and Marvin "Red" Miller; sister, Maxine Graham; and his sweet chow and faithful companion, Copper. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 67 years, Rosie, of Gholson; son, Tim Miller and wife, Donna, of Southlake; daughter, Adelia Vrba and husband, Jim, of Keller; grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Lyndsey, and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Sydney, Avery, Liam, and Liesl; brother, Ed; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
