Bio
Allen V. Boone, 86, of Corsicana, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Ennis Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, in Hamilton Beeman Cemetery with Pastor Tony Stephens officiating. Allen was born in Powell, Texas, to the late Robert Boone and Sadie Geraldine Jergins Boone. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1944 to1946, and the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1973. He was stationed at various bases across the United States and had assignments in Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, Australia, England, and Pearl Harbor. Allen spent the last 35 years in retirement living in Phuket, Thailand, where he enjoyed sailing, scuba diving, and golf. He returned to his native Texas in 2012. He was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Boone Barham. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Budai Boone, of Corsicana; daughters, Irene Witten, of Wimberley, TX, and Ann Rogers, of McKinney, TX.; grandchildren, Michel Ann Ford, of Riverside, CA., Josh Allen Moore, of Sturbridge, MA., and Christa Snyder, of Wimberley, TX.; great-granddaughters, Jessica Chapman and Casie Chapman, both of Riverside, CA.; other relatives and many friends.
