Mr. Edward S. Rakowitz Sr., born December 9, 1923 in San Antonio, entered into rest on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the age of 89. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the International Sheet metal Workers Local Union #67 and a life time member of Highland Social Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, parents Teofil and Eulalia Rakowitz; his brother Herman and infant sister Eula Rakowitz. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron Barnett of Tuppers Plains, OH; son and daughter-in-law Stan and Francie Rakowitz of San Antonio; sister Virginia Kruciak of La Vernia; brother James and his wife Bev Rakowitz of Windcrest; grandchildren Robyn DeRosa and her husband Mike of Powell, OH, Steven Barnett and his wife Allison of Tuppers Plains, OH, Sherie Felsing of Universal City, and Jeff Rakowitz and his wife Katie of San Antonio, great grandsons Brady DeRosa, Cooper and Case Barnett, Reagan and Mason Felsing, and Lucas Rakowitz. The family would like to express gratitude to Donnie Kiolbassa and Gayle Haese for their caring time spent with 'Uncle Rocky', also the family would like to recognize Mary Rodriguez and the staff of Esplanade Garden for their devoted and loving care, and Vitas Hospice for their comforting support.
