Luther has two burial sites. One is in Dallas (#120349720) and one is the Old Saltillo Cemetery (#31770842). Both are correct. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Luther Leon Dennis, 81, died peacefully at 12:20 PM, November 15, 2013 at Northgate Plaza Nursing Home in Irving, TX. He was born January 18, 1932 in Saltillo, TX to Martin Luther and Leona Vivian Dennis. On September 10, 1955 he married Margaret Louise Davis who preceded him in death in 2000. They had four children Micheal (deceased), Rebecca (Sherrie), David (Diane) and Matthew. Luther attended East Texas State and El Centro College and served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Trathen, DD530. After his military service, Mr. Dennis was a police officer in Sulphur Springs, TX for 2 years. He joined the Dallas Police Department in 1960 and remained there until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Dennis is preceded in death by his brother, Martin Duane and is also survived by his sister Dr. Vivian Dennis-Monzingo (Dr. Montie Monzingo) of Rockwall, TX; six grandchildren: Paul, Austin, Brianna, Virgil, Vivian and Gabriella as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2013 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services are scheduled to begin at 10 AM November 19, 2013 in Brown's Memorial Chapel.
