Bio
Gayle L. Reetz, age 74, of York, NE, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at York. She was born March 29, 1939 at Grand Island, NE to Lincoln and Lois (Druliner) Hodges. She was a 1957 graduate of York High School. On February 20, 1960 Gayle and Paul D. Reetz were married in York. Their union was blessed with three children, Gretchen, Wanda, and Donald. Gayle worked as a sales clerk, a job which she loved and which gave her the opportunity to work with the public. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thayer, NE, and enjoyed traveling with the York Fun Club. She had a wonderful sense of humor which was evident with everyone she met. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Gretchen Reetz of Aurora, NE and Wanda (Tom) Dolphin of Blair, NE; son, Donald (LeeAnn) Reetz of Thayer, NE; grandchildren, Zackery and Hailey Johnson of Aurora, Jocelyn and Alexander Dolphin of Blair, and Elizabeth and Ethan Reetz of Thayer. Gayle is also survived by her twin brother Gary (Jean) Hodges of Longmont, CO and Sister, Shirley (Clarence) Schlueter of West Point, NE; lifelong friend and sister-in-law Deanna (David) Reetz; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and nephew Steve Schlueter. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thayer. Inurnment was in Zion Cemetery.
