The family moved to Prague, Nebraska when Bob was two years old. He attended St. John’s Parochial school, and graduated from Prague High School in 1961. While in school, Bob enjoyed track, basketball, and football. On May 2, 1964, Bob married Rosann Veskrna at the Prague Presbyterian Church. Bob worked for 43 years at Western Electric in Omaha, Nebraska, until retiring in 2004. While there, he coached a men’s baseball team named "Bob’s Bandits", and was elected as a union steward. He kept in touch with many of his friends he made while he was there. Some of Bob’s life’s passions included car racing and all kinds of sports. For many years, Bob loved drag racing. He drove a 1956 Chevy, and 1968 Camaro. He mainly raced in Omaha, but sometimes did travel to Iowa, Kansas, and Minnesota. Bob coached both of his daughter’s softball teams, as well as umpiring many youth and adult baseball games. He proudly served on the fire brigade at work, on the Yutan Fire and Rescue Squad, as well as the St. John’s Lutheran Church Council and the Yutan Country Club Board. Bob was an outgoing and friendly man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
