Linda L. Eilenstine, of Grand Island, Nebraska, died Friday, November 8, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. Linda was the daughter of Harry and Luella (Jasnoch) Placzek, born on March 24, 1950 in St. Paul, Nebraska. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Barbara Eilenstine of Sterling, Colorado, Troy and Nichole Eilenstine of Dannebrog, Nebraska and Matt and Jaylene Eilenstine of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter and son-in-law, Shalia Eilenstine and Nagendra Natarajan of Overland Park, Kansas; brother, Ronald Placzek; grandchildren, Alexia and Benjamin Eilenstine, Casandra Bruha, Braxton and Hendrix Eilenstine, Reese and Ethan Eilenstine and Simon Natarajan; special friend Mark Oakley of Wolbach, Nebraska nd a host of family and friends. Linda grew up in rural St. Paul, Nebraska graduating from St. Paul (NE.) High School in 1968. She married Gary Eilenstine in 1969 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grand Island, Nebraska. They lived in Grand Island, Nebraska and she was employed at Skagway in the fabric department until the family moved to a farm near Rockville, Nebraska in 1979 where she worked alongside her husband on the family dairy farm. In 1992, she began working for R.G.I.S. Inventory as an inventory auditor throughout the state of Nebraska. She worked for Home Depot as a flooring and blind specialist, when the business opened in Grand Island, in 2002. During this time, Linda also worked part-time at J.C. Penney and T.J. Maxx. She worked until 2012 when she became disabled from health issues. Linda was a people person and considered her work her hobby. She never knew a stranger and loved being around people. Linda is a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Grand Island, Nebraska and past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rockville, Nebraska where she was a parish council member and a religious education teacher. Services will be Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Grand Island, Nebraska. The Rev. Charles L. Torpey and Rev. Michael F. McDermott will concelebrate. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, Nebraska.
