Daniel Herman Goeken, son of Andrew and Mary Steffensmeier Goeken was killed in an alfalfa plant accident 05 Nov 1974. He is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery, West Point, NE. Youth Killed in West Point Farm Accident West Point (AP)- Eighteen year old Daniel H. Goeken of West Point was found dead late Tuesday in an alfalfa pellet bin at the West Point Dehy plant. Goeken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Goeken of West Point had been reported missing by co-workers. He had been working in a large bin, breaking curst with a metal pole while the alfalfa pellets were augered out of the bin. Goeken's jacket was found in the bin where he had been working and the pole was then seen protruding from the top of the pile of pellets. The West Point rescue squad recovered his body. An autopsy was ordered but Melvin Murphy, Cuming County coroner said suffocation appeared to be the cause of death.
