Mary Lavaun Hann, age 81, of Grant City, died Friday, November 1, 2013, at the Worth County Convalescent Center. Lavaun was born October 8, 1932, near Irena, Mo., the daughter of the late Lester and Deva (Miller) Austin. She was a 1951 graduate of Grant City High School, Grant City. Lavaun was a member of the Grant City Baptist Church, baptized at age 15. Other former memberships included the Uneeda Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was united in marriage to George Dale Hann on June 7, 1952, in Grant City. To this union six children were born: Connie, Billy, Gary, Barbra, Jeffry and Michael. Lavaun's love of children enabled her to provide childcare for many families in the community for years before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George (2008); two sons, Billy and Jeffry Hann; and her brother, Larry Austin. Survivors include daughters, Connie (Larry) Maudlin, Grant City; Barbra Runde, Maryville, Mo.; sons, Gary (Tonya) Hann, Maryville; Michael (Tanya) Hann, Centralia, Mo.; one sister, Freda (Rex) Robertson, Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Tyler Hann, Stacy (Jon) Murphy, Austin Hann, Alexis (Chester) Bohling, Logan Runde, Trevor (Cassie) Runde, Brooke (Andrew) VanHulten, Nathan and Kirsten Hann; eight great-grandchildren, Brayden and Kennedy Murphy, Gabriel, Luke and Hayleigh Runde, Keatan and Hadley Runde, Kylie VanHulten; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and a host of other friends and loved ones. The funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, at the Andrews Funeral Home in Grant City. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grant City cemetery.
