Charles A. Sirney, age 77 of Temple, died Friday, November 1, 2013 in Temple. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 4, 2013 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3-5:00 PM Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Mr. Sirney was born on November 10, 1935 in Holland, Texas to the late Charles Henry Sirney and Judy Jarolik Sirney. He attended schools in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1955. On September 29, 1957, Charles married Dorothy Doeckle at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. Charles retired from Wilsonart with over 40 years of service. He then had a lawn mowing and landscaping service in Temple. Charles loved rebuilding cars and travelling all over. He was preceded in death by a great grandson. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Sirney of Temple; a son, Steve Sirney of Temple; a sister, Georgie Sirney Kotrla Halm and husband Frank of Temple; one granddaughter, Shelley Sirney Martinez and husband Terry of Troy and one great grandchild, Angel Martinez of Troy. Memorials may be given in Charles' name to the American Heart Association.
