Bio
Francis Dale "Nick" died on April 17 and Virginia Mae Nichelson died on March 19. Francis Dale Nichelson and Virginia Mae Kadavy were married on Aug. 10, 1950 at St. John's Catholic Church in Weston. Nick worked for LT&T for over 37 years, and Virginia taught in one-room school houses, was a teacher's aide at Wahoo Public Schools and was the office assistant to the Saunders County Superintendent of Schools. Francis served in the United States Army Air Corps from March 1944 to August 1946 where he was trained to be a photo reconnaissance pilot and a twin engine rating. He enjoyed P-38 flight. After raising their family in Wahoo, they retired and moved to Lincoln in 1989. They are survived by their children, Gregory L. Nichelson, Laura K. Lenz, Brian J. Nichelson, Neil C. Nichelson, Sheila M. Ehrlich and Sara L. Nichelson; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Jason, Patrick and Francis C. Nichelson, Ana Mauldin, Katrina, Louisa and Deidre Ehrlich; and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Lincoln at a later date.
