Broken Bow, NE- Rodger Ritchie, age 64 of Broken Bow, died Sunday November 3, 2013 at his home near Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Reverends Todd Karges and Roger Sloan officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Rodger D. Ritchie was born on August 14, 1949 near Broken Bow, NE to Charles "Doc" and Wanda (Cool) Ritchie. He graduated from Anselmo Merna High School in 1968. He served in the National Guard 1970-1976. He was married to Bonita Burnett on June 2, 1968. Rodger is survived by his wife Bonita of Broken Bow, son Mike Ritchie (and friend Kay Neal) of Merna, NE, daughter Jennifer Gibbons (and husband J.J.) of Broken Bow, four grandsons, his mother Wanda Ritchie of Merna, brothers Glenn Ritchie (and friend Barb Bacon) of Berwyn, NE, Gary Ritchie of Houston, TX, and Marvin Ritchie (and wife Deb) of Ansley, NE, and a sister Nancy (Kenneth) Newman of Sutherland, NE. He was preceded in death by his son Jason, his father, mother and father in law Thelma and Melvin Burnett, and brother in laws Victor and Marvin Burnett.
