George L. Krolikowski, 73, of rural Ord passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Fathers Josh Brown and Mark Maresh will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. George was born February 22, 1940, at Ashton, Nebraska to Anthony F. "Tony" and Nellie T. (Skibinski) Krolikowski. He was raised in Ashton and Loup City where he attended Country School and Loup City Public Schools. He graduated from Loup City High School in 1958. George served in the United States Army for two years. On August 19, 1967, George was united in marriage to Marilyn Bennett at Loup City, Nebraska. The couple lived in various western Nebraska towns while George worked construction. In 1971, they moved to Ord and George continued to work construction, operating large equipment, which he loved. In 1983, the family settled on an acreage west of Ord. Mrs. Krolikowski passed away on September 8, 2000. George continued to live west of Ord and was employed at Twin Loups Irrigation District at the time of his passing. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Parish Council, Knights of Columbus and VFW. George was a Husker Football fan; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering outside and improving his acreage. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Kris of Valentine, and Joe and Carina of Grand Island; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cindy Krolikowski of Kearney, Suzanne and Tim Graznak of Greeley, CO, and Joanie and Brad Moncrief of Omaha; six grandchildren, Gage and Tessa Krolikowski, Kaelan and Ben Graznak, and Colt and Cash Krolikowski; and a brother and sister-in-law, a Dennis and Donna Krolikowski of Loup City. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marilyn.
