Bio

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Scrap Chism, who died Wednesday at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for several weeks. The services were held at the Baptist church, with the pastor Rev. W.H. Cook in charge, assisted by the Rebecca lodge. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Chism, who had been in bad health for some time, underwent an operation several weeks ago, but her death was attributed to pneumonia. She had lived at Steele for the past 38 years, coming here from Kentucky. She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Rebecca lodge. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. May Florence Kemp and Mrs. Dora Simmons of Indianapolis, Ind. German Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
