~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vera Mae Foster was born on December 28, 1932, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, to Claude Edward and Maggie Lou (Patterson) Banister. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in Lovington, New Mexico, at the age of 80 years, 9 months & 25 days. Growing up, Vera attended school in Sulpher Bluff, Texas. Vera had worked as a waitress for Thomas' Restaurant in Pryor, Oklahoma for many years. She also had a dog kennel, raising pekingese, schnauzers and chinese pugs. Vera enjoyed being around dogs. She also liked to go fishing. Vera will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Vera is survived by: 4 children: Brenda Bohannon of Lovington, New Mexico, Diane Madry and husband Ralph of Midland, Texas, Barbara Rutledge and husband Marvin of Portland, Texas, and Carrolyn Foster and husband Bob of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; Other relatives and a host of friends. Vera was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and 1 brother: Ben Edward Banister. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Reverend Ray Gwartney will officiate.
