Klazina Carl Obituary Klazina Douma Carl, age 98, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden. She was born May 17, 1915 in Billings, Montana to Henry and Magdalena (Bakker) Douma and moved to Whatcom County as a young adult. In the 60's and 70's, Klazina owned and operated Mode O Day, a ladies apparel shop in Bellingham. She enjoyed doing crafts and was an avid Mariners fan. Klazina was a charter member of Hope in Christ Church. She is survived by her sister, Sophia VanWyk of Lynden and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 24, 1:00 pm at Hope in Christ Church, 710 E. Sunset Dr., Bellingham.
