Bio
Louise (Fritz) Kienow, the last surviving of child of Gottlieb and Sophie (Siercks) Fritz, was born at Niobrara, Nebraska on June 1, 1910. Louise was one of 10 children born to Gottlieb and Sophie, who were German immigrants that came to the United States in 1880. Louise died Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Bloomfield Good Samaritan Society, Bloomfield, Nebraska. Louise attended rural school near the family farm, which was located three miles southeast of Niobrara, Nebraska. After her parents moved to Lebanon, Oregon, in the late 1930's, Louise remained in the Knox County, Nebraska area. In her free time, Louise enjoyed wallpapering, quilting, gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress. She loved polka dances and would even play the accordion in the band at dances. On October 28, 1949, Louise was married to Fred J. Kienow at the Methodist Church, Creighton, Nebraska. The couple farmed northwest of Winnetoon, Nebraska until 1969, at which time, they purchased an acreage on the south edge of Winnetoon, Nebraska. Although they had moved to town, Louise and Fred's hearts continued to be in farming, until Fred's death on March 23, 2004. After the loss of her husband, Louise sold the acreage in Winnetoon, Nebraska, and moved to the Sunsetview Assisted Living in Bloomfield, Nebraska. She had resided there until this past week, when a recent illness led to her moving to the Bloomfield Good Samaritan Society, Bloomfield, Nebraska. Louise is survived by: nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by: parents, Gottlieb and Sophie Fritz; husband, Fred J. Kienow; siblings, Julie Schroder, Frieda Krupicka, Ella Wegner, Anna Heining, Silda Bourn, George Fritz, Herman Fritz, Otto Fritz (at birth), and Albert Fritz. Interment was in Winnetoon Cemetery, Winnetoon, Nebraska.
