Ruth M. Kettrey, 105, formerly of Little York, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 in Winter Haven, Fla. Born May 7, 1908 in Little York, she was the daughter of George Otis and Mae Stout Gamble. She was a Baptist and a retired lab tech for Alcon Research Laboratory. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbie A. Kettrey; two sons, Elmo Leroy and George William Kettrey; and a daughter: Eula Kettrey; two brothers, Harold Gamble and Woodford Gamble; and four sisters, Frances Mullen, Annice Henry, Lois Henry and Lorraine Savell. She is survived by two sons, Donald Kettrey, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Ron Kettrey, of Mansfield, Ark.; a daughter, Marjorie Crawford, Winter Haven, Fla.; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
