First Marriage to Forrest Watson
Dorothy A. Keller, 81, of Ord formerly of Scotia passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Valley View Living Center in Ord. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Ord with Pastor Kyle Campise officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Dorothy A. was born April 22, 1932, to William and Anna (Borovka) on the family farm in the Springdale Township of Valley County, Nebraska. She attended Springdale Country School and Ord High School. On February 21, 1951, Dorothy was united in marriage to Forest T. Watson at Ord, Nebraska. To this union a son, Ted was born. Forest and Dorothy lived and farmed in the Mira Valley area southwest of Ord. Mr. Watson passed away on December 22, 1961. Dorothy married Doyal Keller on March 20, 1965, at the Mira Valley Church. The couple had two daughters, Patricia and Karol. The family made their home in Scotia. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked outside the home for Social Services caring for elderly people in their homes and as a bookkeeper for the Greeley County Road Department. While Mr. Keller was the Greeley County Sheriff, Dorothy worked at the Sheriff's office and tended to the phone calls of the law enforcement from their home base. Mr. Keller passed away on June 25, 2000. Dorothy remained in Scotia until March of 2009, when she moved to Rolling Hills at Ord. Dorothy was a member of the Scotia United Methodist Church, UMW, Daughters of Faith, Scotia Community Club and BFFD Craft Club. She was a member and recently attended the Ord Bethel Baptist Church where she belonged to the quilters club. Her hobbies included playing the piano, sewing, crafts, quilting, cooking, gardening, camping and playing cards with her card club. She enjoyed going to the Ord Senior Center and was a member of their board. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandson, Jarrod and going fishing with him. Survivors include a son, Ted Watson of Paradise, CA; one daughter, Karol Keller of Ord; a step son, Scott Keller of Atchison, KS; three step daughters, Mary (Mrs. Alan) Bahm of Ashland, Nichole Moll of Lubbock, TX and Donna Watson-Lawson of CO; a grandson, Jarrod Visek of Ord; 7 step grandchildren; numerous step great-grandchildren; a special friend, Gerald Wibbels of Ord; a sister-in-law, Leona Kluna of Grand Island; nieces; nephews; and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Forest Watson and Doyal Keller; infant daughter, Patricia Jean Keller; and a brother, Richard Kluna.
