Marilyn Jeanne Gentry Oct 29,1931-Oct 12,2013 Marilyn Jeanne(Hunkins)Gentry, passed away peacefully at home in Littleton, Colo. on Oct. 12, 2013.A funeral service will be held Oct. 17, at Gering Memorial Chapel with interment at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Marilyn was born in Falls City, Neb. to Lyle and Mildred(Godding)Hunkins on Oct. 29, 1931. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus in 1949. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and met her future husband. She graduated in 1953. Marilyn married Richard Gentry on Aug. 22, 1954 in Columbus. The couple moved frequently, living in Omaha and settling in Falls City, to raise their four children. In 1978, they moved to Blair, Neb. Marilyn moved to Littleton, Colo. in 2012 to be close to her daughter, Susan. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. While she had many hobbies, her greatest accomplishment – and what she cared about most in life – was her family. She was proud of her children and loved spending time with them and her grandchildren.Survivors include her brothers, Wayne, (Vana) of Beverly Hills and Gene of Newcastle, Wyo.; daughter, Susan Hahn (Rick) of Centennial, Colo.; son, Tedd Gentry (Lois) of Decorah, Iowa; son, David Gentry (Jani) of Lincoln; daughter, Carol Burns (Paul) of Sanford, Mich. and 11 grandchildren.Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Gentry.
