Bio

Thanks to contributor #48796369 Georgia M. Stoffel, 70, of Wolbach died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Rev. Ken West will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home in Wolbach is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stoffel was born on June 2, 1928, in Greeley to V.J. "Bo" and Flossie (Perry) Baldwin. She grew up in Greeley and attended Greeley public schools. She graduated from Greeley High School. She worked at Jack and Jill Grocery Store in Greeley and then worked as a Linotype operator at the Greeley Citizen newspaper. She married Howard Stoffel on Sept. 29, 1956, at Wolbach. The couple lived on a farm near Wolbach before moving into town. She lived there with her husband before entering the Greeley Care Home in March 1991. She enjoyed reading and watching country music programs on television. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Greeley. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tommy of Columbus and Dennis of Grand Island; two daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Gordon) Zulkoski of Columbus and Deanna (Mrs. Steve) Lindsley of Wolbach; six grandchildren; one brother, Ed Baldwin of Greeley; and one sister, Helen Atwater of Greeley. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Don and Marion Baldwin. The Grand Island Independent, Jan. 7, 1999
