Obituary of Albert Leroy Stanley The Courier-Gazette Wednesday November November 17, 1943 Page 4. A highly respected citizen, Albert Leroy Stanley passed away at his home in Melissa. He was born in Marion County, Arkansas son of the late James D. and Ann Blackburn Stanley. He came to Texas 41 years ago and to Collin County 35 years ago and settling near Melissa. He married the former Eliza Stonecipher 62 years ago and she survives him as do the following children: Mrs. H.L.Davenport from McKinney, Elza Floyd Stanley from Gladewater, Ira Stanley from Merkel, Mrs. W.E.Townley from McKinney, Mrs. Selmer Murray from Dallas, Mrs, J.W.Hunter from Littlefield, Rev. Roy Stanley from Melissa; one sister, Mrs. Jane Lancaster from Arkansas; two brothers, Harrison Stanley, Billie Stanley both from Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and was preceded in death by one son, Troy Stanley and one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Belcher. He was a primitive baptist. Services will be held in the Chapel of Crouch-Moore Funeral Home on Thursday at 2:30 p.m with Rev. E.B. Jackson and Rev. Ball officiating with internment in Pecan Grove Cemetery.
