Opal was the daughter of Elmer E. and Stella O. Barrett. She married (1) Francis McKiernan in 1933 and (2) Harry Hathaway in 1956. Herald & Review, Decatur, IL Monday, May 22, 2000 Hathaway, 95, Arvada, Colo., formerly of Hutsonville, retired teacher, Crawford County School, died Friday (May 19, 2000). Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Hutsonville Cemetery. Memorials: Opal Hathaway Memorial Fund, First United Methodist Church, Robinson. Evansville Courier & Press, IN Monday, May 22, 2000 Opal Hathaway HUTSONVILLE -- Opal Barrett Hathaway, 95, did Friday, May 19, 2000, at the Exempla Lutheran Care Center in Arvada, Colo. She retired as a teacher for the Crawford County school system and was a social worker for the Illinois entitlement program for the aged, blind and disabled. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Robinson. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Leach of Arvada and Janice Rumfelt of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pulliam Funeral Home, with burial in Hutsonville Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home. She was a retired schoolteacher and social worker for the state of Illinois. Survivors include daughters Mary Leach of Arvada, Janice Rumfelt of Missouri; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
