His Obit appeared in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Sunday, February 17, 2013." It reported that "Clinton Claiborne, or Bud as he was known to family and friends, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 15, 2013, at the age of 97." "Bud was born on Aug. 22, 1915, in Bastrop. After graduating from high school Bud took at job with Montgomery Ward in Fort Worth and then Sinclair Refining Company before being drafted into the Navy. He served on the hospital ship the USS Haven in the Pacific during World War II, which was the first ship to treat U.S. prisoners of war rescued after the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. He returned to Sinclair where he worked for over 25 years and then finished his career at the Urban Housing Grant Department of the City of Fort Worth. He was a member of Handley United Methodist Church for over 65 years where you would find him worshiping on Sunday morning or washing dishes after lunch on Wednesday afternoons. Bud loved working with his hands whether he was planting a garden, rebuilding a classic car or painting his house (at least one side of his house was repainted every year). Bud took pride in his family and always said he was blessed by women. First and foremost his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Woehl Claiborne. He was preceded in death by his wife, his older sister and four brothers." Survivors: 2 daughters; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
