Obituary: Burwell Tribune Sept. 13, 1951 McKinnley Howard Conner, son of the late Joseph and Tacy Conner was born Nov 18, 1899, on a farm Northeast of Burwell. He attended the grade school, and moved to Burwell with his parents in Dec 1919, where he attended high school. On Aug, 6, 1942 he joined the United States Army and was discharged after serving 16 months on account of ill health. He was never married, and lived with his mother until she passed away seven months ago. He entered the Veterans hospital at Grand Island, July 20, 1951 for medicare and everything possible was done, but he passed awau Se[tember 3, 1951 at the age of 52 years, 10 months, and 16 days. He was proceeded in death by his parents. He leaves to mourn, one sister, Mrs. Hazel Key of Tuthill, S.D., four brothers, Jay of Payette, Idaho, Charles and Otis of Burwell, Nebraska and Joseph E. Conner of Parma,Idaho. He had 18 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. A military funeral was held Friday afternoon from the Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Shepherd in charge. The American Legion furnished military escort. Internment was made in the Burwell cemetery. The Burwell Tribune, Sept 13, 1951
