Bio
Leroy Brandon, 97, of Quanah, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in Mansfield. Graveside services scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27, in Goodlett Cemetery with the Rev. Monte Lumpkin, pastor of Goodlett Baptist Church, officiating. Interment under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Quanah. He was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Goodlett, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandon. He attended Goodlett Schools and graduated from Goodlett High School. He and Dorothy Roberts were married on Nov. 30, 1942, in Newport, R.I. Brandon was a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Quanah. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 24, 2013, and by a son, Frank Roberts Brandon. Survivors include two granddaughters, Georgia Suggs of Mansfield and Virginia Brandon of Washington, D.C.; and four great-grandchildren. The Quanah Tribune-Chief Friday, September 27, 2013
