Bio

Frances Ward, 78, of Lubbock passed peacefully from this life on Aug. 8, 2013, at her home. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with Mike Wilcox officiating. Frances was born Sept. 13, 1934 in Sparenberg, Texas, to Homer M. and Anna Elizabeth Scott. She graduated from Klondike H.S. and moved to Lubbock soon after. She worked at Bigham Gin Supply for 30 years, then Stover Electric, before retiring in 1994. Frances married Buddy L. Ward on May 26, 1956. They were married 56 years until his death in 2010. They raised two sons, Jeff and Jay. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Frances spent many hours watching her sons in their activities growing up. Her kids and grandkids gave her a lot of joy and laughter. She loved spending time playing cards and dominos with her friends. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee and visiting with her friends. She was a member of the Top of Texas Depression Glass Club. She could sometimes be found shopping garage sales, where she loved meeting and visiting people. Frances always made her home welcome to all. She had a selfless, giving spirit and was always helping those in need. Six brothers, H.M., Weldon, Ray, Keith, Ewell, and Glenn preceded Frances in death. A sister, Anne, also preceded her in death. 07/15/1964 - Jay Alan Ward 07/26/1961 - Jeffrey Kent Ward
