Bio

Julia or "July" as she was affectionately called by her family when she was growing up in Alabama, was the sixth of ten children of Andrew and Asenath Weatherly. "July" had a normal childhood though it was interrupted by the War Between the States when she was only fourteen. July married in 1869 and had several children. Life was good until she was hit in the head by a piece of tin during a violent windstorm. Apparently it damaged her brain because she was never the same again after this accident. Her husband sent her to the state hospital for the insane where sadly she died in 1895. Her gravesite is unknown because many of the markers were vandalized or stolen and records destroyed. But Julia Weatherly is not forgotten by her descendants.
