Thanks to contributor #48796369 Joseph B. Haschke, 55, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at the St. Francis Skilled Care Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Leo's Catholic Church. The Rev. John R. Rademacher will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m., Friday at Kleine Funeral Home. Mr. Haschke was born on July 6, 1943, at Cedar Rapids to Bernard J. and Fern (Homan) Haschke. He was educated at District 28 School in Boone County and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1961. He worked in Omaha for some time before entering the U.S. Army in 1965. He served in Germany until 1967. After his discharge, he began working for New Holland in February 1967. He married Gloria A. Beerman on Jan. 24, 1970, at Omaha. They lived in Grand Island, and he worked for New Holland at the time of his death. He had worked for the company for 31 years. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion and the Saddle Club. He enjoyed his garden and working in his garage. Survivors include his wife; one son, David J. Haschke of Grand Island; one daughter, Kathryn A. (Mrs. Ryan) Jelinek of Grand Island; his parents; two brothers, Paul L. Haschke of Cedar Rapids and Mark W. Haschke of Spalding; and five sisters, Helen Jean (Mrs. Charles) Rouse of Central City, Margaret Ann (Mrs. Robert) Fischer of Kingwood, Texas, Delores M. (Mrs. Roger) Bailey of Tekamah, Rita R. (Mrs. Barry) Granden of Kimberling City, Mo., and Susan K. (Mrs. Jerold) Douthit of Berthoud, Colo. The Grand Island Independent, Oct. 16, 1998
