Naomi was born to parents Cornelia Ann (nee: Chesson) and Wylie Alexander Thomas. She was blessed with eight great siblings: Lydia, Lottie May (Hatcher), John Baptist, Ruth Lea (Myers), twins: Essie Mae (Austin) and Era May (Vail), Rebecca (Elliott), James Napolean. Naomi had one son, Dewey Ray Maris of Texas City, Texas (deceased) and his loving wife, two sons and two daughters and many grandchildren.
