Bio

Joesph F. "Joe" Kohout, of Dwight, Nebraska, died September 19, 2013 at the Butler County Health Care Center, David City, Nebraska. Joe was born April 14, 1927 to Joe A. and Eva C. (Nemec) Kohout in Seward County, Nebraska. Joe attended school at Dwight (NE.) Assumption through the 10th grade. Joe entered the Army March 21, 1946 and was honorably discharged April 11, 1947. After the discharge from the Army, he worked several jobs until he began to farm with his dad. When his dad retired, Joe farmed with his nephew, Marvin. Joe is survived by: sister. Bernadine Kohout of Dwight, Nebraska; nephew, Marvin Andel of David City, Nebraska; niece, Sharon Smith of David City, Nebraska; great nieces and nephews, April Smith, Adam Smith, Sarah Smith and Valerie Smith and a host of family and friends. Joe was preceded in death by: parents; infant brother, Lawrence Kohout and sister, Arlene E. Andel. Funeral Mass as Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10 am at Dwight Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight, Nebraska with Father Jerel Scholl officiating. Burial was in Bee Catholic Cemetery, Bee, Nebraska.
