Tracy Press, Tracy, CA, May 4, 1950, Thurs., p.1 Tracy Engineer Dies Tuesday in San Francisco Mr. Chauncey E. Dikeman, 51, a local railroad engineer, died Tuesday evening in the Southern Pacific hospital in San Francisco following a lengthy illness. Mr. Dikeman had been hospitalized since October 1949, and had made two visits home, the last one being in March of this year. A native of Hershey, Nebraska, he had been associated with the Tracy division of the Southern Pacific company since 1923. Until his illness, he resided at 149 West Highland with his wife, Helen, and stepdaughter, Joyce Synak. He was a member of Harriman Lodge No. 592, B. of L.E. of Tracy and Tracy Aerie, 213, FOE. Mr. Dikeman is survived by his wife, four stepdaughters and a stepson, Mrs. Florence Dean of Quincy, Mrs. Evelyn Colling of Bismark, N.D., Mrs. Carol Kops of Sacramento, Joyce Synak of Tracy, and Eugene Synak of Marysville. He was a brother of Mrs. Lucille Farin of Mill Valley and Mrs. Almeda Nichelson of Oakland. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5 at 2 p.m. from Hotchkiss Mortuary. Rev.
