Nancy married James Rayland Collins February 14, 1957 in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas. Nancy divorced James R. Visitation 6 p.m. Friday, Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Burnet. Services 1 p.m. Saturday, First Baptist Church, Burnet. Burial 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Senterfitt Cemtery, Lometa. - Burnet County's beloved "voice of the courthouse," has gone silent. Nancy Collins, who as the courthouse PBX operator since 1990 spoke with, helped and consoled countless county residents, died Tuesday morning at Seton Round Rock Hospital of complications from a long battle with pancreatitis. She was 75. Collins was "everyone's mother around the courthouse," said Burnet County Attorney Eddie Arredondo, whose office was just around the corner from Collins' on the first floor of the venerable building. But Collins' sphere of love and friendship was not limited to the courthouse. "When Nancy Collins loves you, you are her friend and you are her family," said Burnet County Judge Donna Klaeger. "I've never known anyone except maybe my mom who was more kind to people." ********************************* Nancy Lou Kirby Collins age 75 of Burnet, TX, passed away September 17, 2013. She was born September 30, 1937 in Lometa, TX to Gaylian and Marqueritte Todd (Beasley) Kirby. Nancy, known as the voice of the courthouse and as Grandma Collins, enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Her cinnamon rolls were what most had requested. She also enjoyed taking her grandson Quint to garage sales. And Nancy was always in attendance at her grandchildren's functions. She is survived by her sons Terry Collins of Madisonville, TX, Barry Collins and wife Dodie of Harper, TX, Kerry Collins and wife Julie of Blanco, TX. Nancy is also survived by grandchildren Kiara Collins, Chloe Collins, Karli Collins, Quint Collins, Kristopher Pressler and wife Tiffany, Kyle Pressler and wife Erin, Kurtis Collins, Matthew Wyatt, Teresa Collins, Christina Collins, Breanna Collins and Zachariah Collins. And great grandchildren Kyndal Pressler and Kali Fischer. Nancy is also survived by her sister Floriece Ladyman and husband Bill of Lometa, TX; and tons and tons of loving family and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Gaylian and Marqueritte Todd (Beasley) Kirby, grandparents Walter & Tillie Ligon, brothers John R Kirby II and Weldon Kirby. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday September 20, 2013 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, TX. Services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday September 21, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Burnet, TX. Graveside service will be at 3:30 pm Saturday September 21, 2013 at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa, TX. Pallbearers are Mark Whitaker, Richard Prescott, Billy Dixon, Art Kirby, Joe Ray, Jack Fields, Quint Collins, Zach Collins.
