Bio

William P. Tisdale Jr. was born and raised in South Carolina. The Tisdale line could be traced to around 1591 Dorset, Ripton, England. Williams 4x great grandfather John Tisdale Sr. and wife Sarah were the first of the Tisdales to come to America in 1636 living in the Taunton, Bristol County, MA area. Tisdales did not start moving south until about 1705. From Virginia to South Carolina and then on to Mississippi. William Sr. Would serve in the War of 1812 as a Private in Smoots Mississippi Division. He served from November 1813- Jan. 1814. He met and married Susannah Carr in 1821 South Carolina. They settled in Jones County , MS on a farm and raised 6 kids. William passed away in 1848 with Susannah passing in 1860.
