Everett was my beloved Uncle. He was originally going to be buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery (See Obituary below) because his Aunt Margie paid for him to be buried there but his wife and children chose to have him buried in the Umo Ho Tribal Cemetery instead. Everett Raymond Tipton's Obituary The Sioux City Journal (Sioux City, IA) Thurs., March 15, 1979 E.R. TIPTON Ponca, Neb.---Evert Raymond Tipton, 52, of Ponca, died Monday at a nursing home in Ponca of long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Mohr Funeral Home at Ponca. The Rev. Nile Buch will officiate. Burial will in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Mr. Tipton was born May 18, 1926, at Winnebago. He served in the air force during the Korean Conflict. He married Verna Cleveland in 1971 at St. Paul, Minn. They made their home in St. Paul and returned to Dixon County in 1974. Survivors include the widow; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Earl Howard of Roy, Utah; her son, Edward Cleveland, address unknown; her daughters, Mrs. Barbara Leith, Lidia Cleveland, and Candace Cleveland, all of St. Paul; two brothers, Larry Howard of Lexington, Utah and Randy Howard of Utah; one sister, Mrs. Leola Van Wagoner of Napa, Ida., and three grandchildren.
