Bio

Leroy Guthrie James was the son of Benjamin F. James and Elizabeth Jane (Gilcrest) James. He was born July 20, 1885 in Spink County, SD (his obituary incorrectly states he was born in Yankton, SD). He married Carrie Ellen Mooneyham Oct. 12, 1912 in Amarillo, Texas. His mother and one of his sons died in a horrible flood in Englewood, Colo. in 1933. He was a dairyman most of his adult life. At his death in 1974 he was survived by his widow, six daughters, 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
