Deseret News, Thursday, Sept. 19 1991 SALT LAKE CITY-Ada Carson Sears, age 102, died peacefully in her sleep September 17, 1991. Ada left this frail existence to continue her eternal progression and to reunite with loved ones departed. She was born February 8, 1889, the third child of George Franklin Garrett and Alvina Ellen Park. She married Samuel Burton Carson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 9, 1907. They had five children.Her passing is preceded by many loved ones: husband, Samuel Burton Carson and sons, Eldon, Glen, Cecil and daughter, Ora. Later spouses, Jim Glover and LeRoy Sears, both deceased; also brothers, sisters, parents, in-laws and grandchildren. She is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Carson,(son); Mearl G. Smith,(sister), and a large posterity including 6 generations. Her long life was filled with what she called "sunshine and shadows", lots of heartache and happiness. She lived her life loving people and they loved her. Ada valued her family and friends dearly. She was an active member of the LDS Church until the last years of her life, enjoying many ward and stake positions in Lehi, Alpine, Midvale and Salt Lake wards and stakes. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 21, 1991, 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
