Bio
Nellie, age 90, passed away after a sudden, brief illness at HospiceCare Inc. She was born one of 13 children of Clarence & Lizzie (Haley) Bravard. Nellie attended the country school on the family farm, where her sister taught. Nellie married Roy Whitson in 1937. Together the couple farmed near Georgetown, OH. Retiring from farming, they built a home in town. In 1979, they moved to Wisconsin to be near their only son and his family. Nellie was very active at Main Street Quarters, which she called home for 20 years. She is survived by her son, Forrest (Linda) of Madison; three grandchildren, Janine, Forrest Jr. (Johanna), and Courtney; three great-grandchildren, Allie Rose, Kellan and Chloe; a sister, Ruth Klein; and nephews and nieces. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; and her brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at Gunderson Oregon Funeral Home, Oregon, WI.
