Kelly Cook passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of September 3. He is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughters, Juli Redner and her husband, Mark, of Larkspur, CO, and Rachel Cook, of Garland, TX. Kelly's sister and brother, Louise Harlow and James Cook, also survive him. Kelly was anticipating the birth of his first grandchild, early this month. Kelly grew up on a farm in Anna, TX, the last of ten children of Glessie and Kelley Cook. As a student, he was an enthusiastic athlete, representing Anna High School in football, basketball and track. Upon graduating, in 1964, Kelly was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Viet Nam. Where he received three purple hearts earned during his combat service. Upon return to civilian life, Kelly went to work for Southwestern Bell, retiring after thirty-three years with the company to spend time with family and friends, traveling and enjoying a vacation home in Mexico. Kelly loved fishing, hunting, and any activity which allowed him an excuse to enjoy the outdoors, in any season and weather. We will all remember Kelly's warm smile, quick wit and enthusiastic friendship; always willing to help friends and family with any project at hand.
