Jerry Dolezal, 99, a resident of Ennis, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Ennis Regional Hospital. Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013, in the Chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Henry Drozod as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis. Jerry was born in Garrett, Texas, to the late Joseph and Josephine (Patril) Dolezal. He was a very religious man and a devoted member of the St. John Nepomucne Catholic Church. Jerry honored his country by serving in the military. He was drafted into the U.S. Army at Mineral Wells, Texas. He was a Rifleman in the Infantry during World War II, serving in New Guinea and Australia. Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Dolezal; sisters, Rosie Trojacek, Emily Kubelka, and Lillian Dolezal; and nephew, Emil Trojacek. Survivors include nieces, Helen Trojacek Novy and Lorene Trojacek Bakluda, both of Ennis, Marguerite Kubelka Patterson, of Irving, and Marcella Kubelka Anderson, of Garland; nephews, Robert Kubelka and wife, Suzanne, of Duncanville, Eugene Kubelka and wife, Cathy, of Austin, Michael Kubelka, of Ennis; niece-in-law, Lydia Hughes; and numerous great- and great-great nephews and nieces.
