Bio
Eunice Marie Benton of Euless, formerly of Idalou, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. She was born on July 23, 1915 to Sid and Dora Tipton in Loves Valley, Okla. Eunice married Odie Blakemore in March of 1933 until his death in April of 1934. She then married Johnie Benton on Christmas Eve, 1939 in Madill, Okla. The family moved to Idalou in 1952 where Eunice was a homemaker. She was a wonderful and giving friend. She always had a kind word and deed for those in need. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Sara Blakemore of Mineola; daughters, Dixie Lanehart and Elaine Benton both of Hurst; son, J. T. Benton and wife Kathryn of Marble Falls; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie, and son, Clay Blakemore. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 in Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Idalou. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Idalou Cemetery.
