Son of Heinrich & Gesche M. (Schutze) Hellbusch. Married to: 1. Minnie Franzen. 2. Anna Marie Oldigs on 4-1-1900 in Platte County, NE. Immigrated 6-1-1886 to Port of Baltimore, MD. on the S.S. Wesser. Naturalization on 2-7-1917 at Nance County, Nebraska ----------------------------- Thanks to contributor #47466150 The Daily Independent (Grand Island, Nebraska) Saturday, 27 December 1958 BELGRADE - Services for George Helbusch, a resident of the Belgrade area for 54 years, were held at Peace Lutheran Church near Belgrade Friday afternoon with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Hellbusch would have been 87 Dec. 31. He died unexpectedly Dec. 23 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louis Landers, at Leigh, Neb. At the age of 14 Mr. Hellbusch came from Germany and lived in Platte County since 1902. Since then he and his family had lived in the Timber Creek vicinity. Mrs. Hellbusch died in 1953. He is survived by four daughters and seven sons: Louis of Omaha; George of Council Bluffs; Hermann of Columbus; Helmuth of Cedar Rapids; Rudolph of Belgrade; Edward of Hines, Ore.; Otto of Vellejo, Calif.; Mrs. Louis Landers of Leigh; Mrs. Louis Naeve of Albion; Mrs. Carl Holfman and Mrs. Hubert Rathje, of Belgrade; also two brothers, Andrew Graves, Clarks; and Ora Graves, Fullerton. (Note: the obit does not explain why his brothers use a different surname.)
