"Last rites for Joe Schiller, 74, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Pace Funeral Home, with services at the Ocker Church later. Rev. F.J. Kostohryz officiated, and burial was in the Ocker Cemetery. Mr. Schiller died Saturday in a hospital after a long illness. He was born October 3, 1880, in Austin County, and moved to Falls County in 1895. He was married to Miss Fannie Pomykal in 1905. He had lived in Bell County since 1910, and was a member of the SPJST Lodge. Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Coufal and Mrs. Bill Mikeska, both of Temple; six sons, Jerry, George, Alden, Arnold, Alvin and Adolph, all of Temple; one brother, Frank Schiller of Temple; one sister, Mrs. Teresa Hanish of Rosebud; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
